Do not fret, lots of great jams brewing for next Saturday’s show. I have a lovely tribute coming together for soul man Tom Glide who passed last month. He’s best known for his collaboration with Patrick Smadja of Earth, Wind & Fire, on their 2010 album “In the Name of Luv”.
Also brewing in the coming week’s, I’ve been thinking of Bob Weir’s passing a lot. I’ve always loved the bands and the scenes inspired by the phenomenon that is the Grateful Dead, …the jam band circuit. On LSL through the years I think of Phish, Medeski Martin & Wood, and bands like Groove Collective, Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Liquid Soul, Galactic, and others. Now most would think of Allman Brothers or even The Band.. maybe that’s the blues take on it. But anywho, bands that truly jam where the whole crowd is uplifted into super whirling & joyous spiritual love.
